Erin Katherine Laughlin PT, DPT, SFMA, Certified Sportsmetrics
PROFESSIONAL
Erin graduated from Kansas State University in May 2006 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology and later graduated from Rockhurst University in May 2009 with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Erin presented her doctoral research at the 2009 National Strength & Conditioning Association’s National Conference in Las Vegas, NV. Erin is currently in the process of completing her CSMT (Certified Spinal Manipulative Therapist) from the International Spine and Pain Institute and specializes in chronic pain management. Erin has spent the last 3 years assisting with Blue Valley North High School’s girls’ soccer teams’ pre-season conditioning – specifically focusing on knee injury prevention training. She has used her Sportsmetrics training to develop Laughlin Performance & Physical Therapy’s ACL Injury Prevention & Sports Performance Training Program, as well as, LP&PT’s Return to Sport programs. Erin is trained in the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), and applies that knowledge into a comprehensive, functional approach to physical therapy. Throughout the course of her physical therapy career, she has become increasingly more passionate about implementing preventative care programs and stressing a proactive approach to physical therapy vs. the traditional “reactive care” approach of most physical therapists.

Erin is a former KCFC and Blue Valley North High School Varsity soccer player and captain. She continued her soccer career playing club soccer at Kansas State University while pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree. During her time at K-State, she became increasingly more interested in distance running and continues to train and compete in Marathons, Half Marathons, 10-K’s, and 5-K’s.

Danny graduated from Saint Louis University in May of 2006 with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and later graduated from Rockhurst University in May of 2009 with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Danny is a Certified Golf Fitness Instructor-L2 with the Titleist Performance Institute and works with golfers on improving their movements to make a better golf swing. Over the last several years, Danny has worked with several local golf performance programs and has used his TPI education to develop Laughlin Performance & Physical Therapy’s Golf Performance Program and Player’s Series. Danny enjoys working with athletes of all ages and takes a functional approach to physical therapy. He also holds a certification in Sportsmetrics ACL injury prevention training and has been trained in the Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA). Danny is a CF-L1(CrossFit Level 1) and loves working with other coaches and gyms building programs to keep their members healthy and feeling strong in their workouts. Over the last 10 years, Danny has been a consultant for Rockhurst High School’s Swim and Lacrosse programs, 2020 Fit, Overland Park Crossfit, and The GolfStable, building programs and educational workshops to help keep athletes and members healthy and strong. He has worked with athletes of all levels developing strength and conditioning programs specific to their sport.

Danny is an athlete and played many sports growing up. At Rockhurst High School, he was a varsity swimmer and football player. In his free time, Danny enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, playing golf, and participating in CrossFit to stay fit.
Greg Hollenbeck PT, DPT, OCS, SFMA, CF-L1, Certified Sportsmetrics, Certified Functional Dry Needling L2, PN1-NC

Greg graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in May 2007 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/Psychology and his Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Rockhurst University in 2010. He is a board certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) from the APTA. He is a Sportsmetrics instructor and certified in Functional Dry Needling. Other certifications include CrossFit Level 1 trainer and has completed the Burgener Strength weightlifting level 1 course. Greg uses an eclectic approach to physical therapy with emphasis on functional-based treatments. Since graduating from Rockhurst University, Greg has worked with a wide array of patients, developing a great wealth of experience. He is currently running Laughlin Performance & Physical Therapy’s injury prevention program. He enjoys working with athletes of all ability levels and greatest interest is in injury prevention and wellness. Greg takes the time to know his clients and treat them as a whole person, not just the current injury. Being able to look beyond the location of pain and diagnosing the underlying cause of pain/dysfunction is the best way to not only get a person pain-free, but also to stay that way.

Greg played football and baseball across the country while growing up in a military family. Football and baseball remain his largest sports interests. He roots for the Dallas Cowboys and St. Louis Cardinals; however, he is slowly adopting the home town teams as well. He enjoys recreational sports, weight lifting, and CrossFit. Greg is married with 2 young daughters, a cat and a dog (all girls!). He spends free time with family and being outdoors including hiking, camping, hunting and fishing. Living an active and healthy lifestyle is a key aspect of his life.

Brian graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2011 with a Bachelor of Health Science. In 2009, Brian worked as a sports medicine assistant for Mizzou’s football team. He later received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Rockhurst University in 2017 where he received recognition for his research on the use of emerging functional evaluation equipment. Prior to graduate school, Brian gained clinical experience working as a physical therapist technician in St. Louis. He is certified in RockTape, Selective Functional Movement Assessment, Functional Dry Needling levels 1 & 2, and Sportsmetrics.

Outside the clinic, Brian enjoys spending time with friends and family, watching professional sports, playing video games, and playing with his 2 house cats. He is originally from St. Louis and had a dream come true when the Blues won the Stanley Cup in 2019. Also, he has been enjoying the Chiefs but remains a bitter former Rams fan.

Kenzie graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in December 2014 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology/Psychology. She received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Rockhurst University in 2018. She has a certification in Spinal Manual Therapy, which furthers her knowledge of spinal conditions, manual techniques and neurodynamics. She is also certified in Sportsmetrics and the SFMA. Kenzie leads LPPT’s youth athletic performance program, using rehabilitative and preventative approaches to increase agility, endurance, strength and overall sport performance. She is also a co-creator of LPPT’s online RunFIT programs.

Kenzie grew up in Kansas City, MO playing a variety of sports, her favorites including basketball and running. She is an avid fan of the Chiefs, Royals and Mizzou Tigers. Her hobbies include spending time with friends and family, strength training, running, watching/quoting "The Office", and cuddling her furry child, Beetlejuice. She loves finding new coffee shops and cocktail bars with her favorite person, Austin.

Tanner graduated from the University of Kansas in 2016 with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and later graduated from the University of Kansas Medical Center in 2020 with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. She worked as an office assistant at this clinic during PT school and learned from our other DPTs gaining experience in the sports medicine world. Tanner has her SFMA certification and is pursuing a certification in Pelvic Health through Herman and Wallace.

Tanner grew up playing club softball year-round and has always loved staying active and being outside. She is a huge KU basketball fan and faithfully suffers through that other sport every fall. Her favorite place is any mountain with a good view. She loves to read and puzzle, spend time outside with her fiance (Carter) and two dogs, and lift weights/do yoga.

Shannon graduated from Kansas State University in 2017 with a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. She then received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Kansas Medical Center in 2021. While in PT school, she also worked as an office assistant at LPPT and gained job shadowing experience with our DPTs. She is certified in Selective Functional Movement Assessment.

Shannon grew up in Overland Park and is an avid Chiefs and Sporting KC fan. In her free time, Shannon enjoys spending time with her fiancé (Eric) and dog (Remy) as well as reading and going to new brunch spots. She likes to stay active with weight lifting and playing pickleball or tennis.
Alex Warden-Michl, PT, DPT, MSCS, LSVT-BIG

Alex graduated from Bradley University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences. She received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2017 from Bradley University.
Alex specialized in neurological rehabilitation before transitioning to pelvic health. She believes in taking a whole-body approach to treating pelvic floor dysfunction and uses both her orthopedic and neurological training to help her clients meet their goals.
SPECIAL INTERESTS
She enjoys treating a variety of people from all walks of life but has special interests in helping the post-partum population, those looking to return to sport, and those dealing with chronic pain/disease. She is working towards her CAPP -Pelvic certification through the American Physical Therapy Association.
Alex recently moved back to the Midwest after living in New England for 7 years. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and hiking with her husband and daughter. Her bucket list items include visiting all US national parks, running a marathon, and completing a medical mission trip abroad.
Cole Miller PT, DPT, CF-L2

Cole graduated from Kansas State University in 2020 with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, and went on to earn a Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2023. Alongside his studies, he worked as a CrossFit trainer, holding both Level 1 and Level 2 certifications. Cole enjoys working with a wide variety of patients, helping them feel better, stronger, and more capable in their daily lives. Committed to ongoing learning, Cole actively pursues continuing education and is currently working towards a Dry Needling Certification.

When he’s not at the clinic, Cole enjoys spending quality time outdoors with his girlfriend and family. He has a passion for bass fishing and often dedicates his weekends to competing in tournaments on the water. In addition to fishing, Cole has recently taken up rock climbing. He loves going to the climbing gym with his friends to challenge himself and improve his skills.
Amber Helm: Office and Client Experience Manager

Amber is our office manager and new client specialist. She has a B.A. in Psychology, complementing her first degree in Specialized Scientific Technology, and is currently working on her Master's degree at KU. She has spent recent years gaining experience in office management, marketing, sales, and customer service. Amber is responsible for the front office logistics and management including patient scheduling, office billing input, marketing, and patient intake/outtake.

Amber Grew up in St. Joseph, MO, and has experience in a variety of fields such as cooking, chef demoing, health care, event organization, and most importantly coffee and wine pairings. In her free time, she enjoys activities with friends, family, and all of their dogs, especially her own (Penny). Amber also spends as much time paddle boarding as possible with her husband (Michael).
